Does anyone know about using an f4 motor with f4i wiring harness and throttle bodies, to make a long story short, got a f4i with no compression and a good deal on a f4 motor, any imput would help alot!!!!

 

there is a sensor on the head of the f4i. maybe cam angle, i forget which it is. PM blue squid, I think he's done this swap before.

 

you need to swap the head,water pump,thermostat housing,stator and i if i remember right theres one one thing...it was a major pain in the *** but i did do it..just remember to use the entire f4i head/camsetc... and buy a f4i head gasket!

 

GOT TO SWAP THE WHOLE HEAD???? HMMM ILL HAVE TO SEE IF THATS STILL GOOD ON THE F4I MOTOR THANX

 

i dont think i changed stator or water pump

 

Just the head and everything above it (not sure about the airbox)...Think about where the water pump is...and what it does...you won't need to change that. Head-bone connected to the water pump-bone(or stator)? I think not.

 

take a look at the stator plugs that go to the harness...they are different and im no hack..i dont cut wires! also look at the water pump..there are 1/4 hose adapters on the pump it self that are not on the f4i pump...and the thermostat housing has different hose fittings..go look at those and blow me!!!

if you havent done the swap dont talk ****...i can go take pics of it right now!!! as i have both motors sitting in my garage...and know my ****

oh and another thing the ignition pick up rotor is different..if you didnt change that the motor will never run..!
