So I on the hunt for a new HD video camera But not sure what to get.. I am not trying to go broke on this just something nice to capture some decent footage.. What is everone using maybe GURU and KYLE what are you guys shooting with quality is nice? But any help or advice from anybody would be great thanks

Good luck finding a decent editing software that is user friendly and will work with the HD format.. i bought an HD camera a while back.. and have since quit using it.. unless I want to pay a small fortune for editing software...

 

Thats o.k. I don't even know how to dit the shitty film i have now .. Mostly want it to have a clearer picture when I film I don't think i have ever went back and watched or used any footage I have ever taken ..

Thanks bro... We ride most the year round up here... there may be like 3 weeks that go by when its too cold.. but we usually get a nice weekend once a month... I will head down there and ride with you guys some time this winter.. how far of a drive is it?

 

I have a sony nonHD with 30gig harddrive. but they have an hd one as well. i think the hard drive is a better option you usually get more record time and its just a dock away from having it on the computer ready to edit

 

thats what i was thinking as well but i have been reading reviews and they say u get more record and better editing out of tape that just doesnt make sense to me

 

Its only 8 hours the best drive u will ever make once u get here the party is on no matter when u come

 

I donno about all that..but may be different with HD format. i've had my harddrive cam for years now and just had to empty it after 3 shows, 3 lot sessions and all of XDL Indy

 

Yeah i think i am gonna go with a hard drive seems like it would be cheaper in the long run( not having to buy tapes).. Probably gonna try and go with a cannon if i can find a good deal but still open

 

dude, get the HD helmet cam we sell... its awesome... no shake, HD, great shots, and it records to a micro card... and they are not expensive either...

it saves them as a mov file right to the card...

HV30's are nice, i still use a Cannon XL1... Cannon GL2's are little more durable and better to use for filming while riding and what not. Nowadays you can pick them up cheap on craigslist or ebay. Not "HD" but

 

GoPro cams are half the price and work just as well

 

they are the exact same price... and they are larger, mount like ****, and cause a huge drag when going 150 +... the coutour is way better..

i paid $150 bucks a piece for my go pro's and have never had a problem with them especially for the price. First time i ever used one of my go pro's i stuck it on Bill D's helmet and he rolled over on it pretty hard. The gopro didnt budge. Plus they are waterproof! Only thing that sucks about them is the battery doesnt last all that long.

Not sayin the contour is a bad camera i just think for $ go pro's are better.
