Re: Which method do u prefer?
really the problem is you new guys over think **** wayyyy too much. its not organic chemistry. its the same exact concept is breaking the tires loose on a manual trans vehicle. if youre at a dead stop then obviously clutch is in hit the gas as you drop the clutch. if the results werent what you needed then add more gas. if youre rolling at a speed obviously you just gotta be quick about it to maintain speed. pull in the clutch as you do raise the rpm's and release while staying on the gas until you reach the desired height then roll off the gas/tap brake to steady your balance. really not a hard concept, ppl think this **** is harder than it really is, just keep doing it and your muscles will get the hang of ****.
Then i let someone who knew what they were doing on my bike and he circled it the way it was.
You really just have to go out and do it.

More gas man, you'll know when you're at bp when you just float. You just gotta get over the mental block of thinking you're gonna loop. What helped me when I first started was consistently bringing it to almost balance point and dropping it with the rear brake, that way brake control was on lock.
Clutch it as hard as you can to get as close to bp as possible then give it more gas and you'll catch idle. If you need to practice in second if you got the brake control down cause you might get nervous the first couple times around but with less engine brake you can get a feel for it without getting slammed down.

Re: Which method do u prefer?
plus i learned brake control on a 50, looped the 50 and ended up on my *** REPEATEDLY..
Never landed on my *** on a sport bike from looping, yet!

Re: Which method do u prefer?
trying to learn brake control myself. riding an old quadrunner and doing good on it staggered, getting there with sitdowns. jumped on my r6 yesterday and played around for a couple of hours and just could not think of hitting the rear brake for some reason not hitting balance point yet either.

k I'll try clutching harder and hitting the brake to bring it back down but do u get off the throttle as soon as u hit the rear brake? But I was looking at my cage yesterday and my bolt were bent so had to order some new ones

Re: Which method do u prefer?
if you drop your bike daily, your cage bolts will need to be replaced fairly regularly
they need to be tightened often for sure, every few drops will stretch and losen your cage bolts

better start checking your local hardware store to see if you can score matching bolts

Re: Which method do u prefer?
Hope this helps you out. I always use method 1 when on the highways then use method 2 for the lot. They have they're pros and cons but that is what is most comfortable for me. The fiddy makes a world of a difference IMO. But try to stay in the lot as much as possible. Work on clutching from a slow roll or a stop and get comfortable with bringing the bike to balance and using your brake. And save yourself the time and don't chase bp, if you clutch up and feel the need to chase to bring it high then don't do it. Just set it back down and try again. Hope this is helpfull, it was for me. Good luck.
