carbed f4 air intake

i have this carbed f4, i've synced the carbs, changed the plugs, cleaned the fuel lines, etc
the problem is that most of the time when im riding and open the gas it tends to choke like im running out of fuel
i think that it has to do with the air intake, since its naked and the air tubes are not mounted - the ones that go in the air box
anyone had this problem before ? is it taking too much air or less than it shoud ?? what did u do with your air intake ?
thanks in advance

Re: carbed f4 air intake

carbs could need ripped apart and cleaned out

Does the bike have a factory exhaust and factory air filter?

Check to make sure the air filter is clean, also, you could attempt to tape off one of the holes on the air box.. People do it to the fuel injected bikes without ram air tubes, especially when using an aftermarket filter that flows more.

Could even tape off both air box holes, one completely, and the other say 1/3 taped off or something, see if it makes it run better.. If it does, the bike needs richened up

Re: carbed f4 air intake

do not know for sure one the f4s but have seen one some bikes and atvs the air slides in the top of the carbs opening to fast. pull the tops off and pull the springs out and stretch them a LITTLE bit and see if that helps.

This is the exact reason I put an F4I motor in my F4. Glad I was advised to so.

1. Motor F4i with trottle bodies and Fuel Injuectors
2. Air box
3. gas tank with pump
4. main and rear harness
5. rectifier
6. start/ kill switch

That's all I can remember now. It was a pain at first because I found out the hard way what I was missing. I'd get stuck and would have to find and wait for the parts... Well worth it though.

+1 to towilee. on a big gas guzzling muscle car a k&n filter may work great, but not on a stuntbike, no sir.
