your gonna lose about half of your gas capacity when you dent your tank so if your street riding it, dont dent it unless you wanna live at the stations re-filling it.

Rhino liner is horrible as a tank grip, it's way to slick.
Skateboard grip tape is great for learning, it keeps you bolted on and the tape itself won't ever come unstuck, but you'll **** up a pair of pants or two.
The tech-spec and stomp pads are ok at keeping you in the tank, but are really rigid and don't stay on very well with the stock 3m adhesive. I always had to use some sort of super glue or gorilla glue to stick those on decent.
Surf board grip stuff works the best I feel. Not as good as grip tape but I feel better than tech-spec and stomp grip. It's really malleable so you can get it to stick really well on your tank. The kick pad lip things on some work great, but they tear off over time so I find it best to just make sure you have a good lip and use one without the kick pad.

+1 on rhino lining sucking
grip tape hooks good, but like inolen said tears up pants.. I personally run grip tape, I just run a couple small pieces on my tank and not teh entire tank, doesn't tear up my pants too bad and hooks well
and like inolen said, don't use the kick pad, especially on the edge of your tank.. I see lots of people put it on with the kick pad sticking up, hooks well, for about a month then rips off and looks like ****

Hell about 2 weeks after I first started doing wheelies, I was still working on catching balance point, figured I had no reason to dent my tank.. Beat it in one night, went out to the lot, was ripping spreaders, HC's, and flamingo's for a good 2-3 blocks
If your already rocking decent wheelies, the effort it takes to learn a tank trick, is literally getting on the tank and doing it lol
