its up to you, when i had my old bandit I did a huge burnout, was down to cords all way around and i rode to tyre shop (5 mins away) and they said they were too busy so come back in an hour, so i went for a blast up the highway and came back and it was fine
Even with canvas showing the whole way around they still last for longer than you think but on shitty roads or bumpy roads its gonna be hella dodgy and cops sitting behind you at the lights, its really does depend

and on my old 600RR i used to only have wednesday off so i could only get the tyre changed then so i used to ride all week on tyres like this:

^^ Honestly man.... Owning a bike here in Cali is bad enough.... make it a stuntbike and your gonna get a lot of ****..... add in the teenager aspect of it and your kinda fucked on the streets lol. Theyll find anything and everything
