friend wrecked my bike

well i guess im a dumbass without a bike now... let my friend borrow my bike last nite to go to work on.. he decides to run from a state trooper and wrecks at like a 100 mph.. needless to say my bike and himself are in pretty bad shape.. i think my bike got the worst of it even though my friend looks like a 3rd degree burn paitient from head to toe but my bike is destroyed with no insurance so it looks like hes gonna have a pretty expensive bill when he gets outta the hospitol.. but it could be worse.. i could have a destroyed bike and a dead friend... but wuz juss wonderin if this has ever happened to any of yall...

Re: friend wrecked my bike

Why would you let your friend borrow your bike without insurance in the first place? If I had to guess, when he gets out of the hospital and you tell him what he owes you for the bike hes probably gonna tell you to **** off. Your the one that let him take it without insurance.

Re: friend wrecked my bike

To the thread creator, you can't get mad at your friend for wrecking your bike with no insurance, your the one that let him ride it without insurance.

Why did he even have to run from the state trooper? Does the fact the bike wasn't insured have anything to do with it? Is the bike even registered, is your friend even a licensed motorcycle rider?
If the bike wasn't legit, and your friend didn't have a license, what did you REALLY expect?

There's always more then one side to a story.
Was it really some guy who stole your bike and ran? Or was it YOU that ran? You don't spend a month in jail for something you didn't get caught doing, or have anything to do with.

Re: friend wrecked my bike

On a side note, how good of a friend does someone have to be to let them borrow your bike?

But then again, if he is that good of a friend, then why are you not worried about him being hurt, and more worried about him paying for your bike?

Re: friend wrecked my bike

the only damage to the bike was the cage dinged up and a sratch on the rim from when the cops towed it and chained it up

I know we all love our bikes, but lets keep things in perspective... It's only a bike.
Be glad your FRIEND is alive. If your friend would have died you'd probably say something like: " I'd give anything to have my friend back" We go through bikes all the time. It just happened to you in a shitty way. Besides, If he is a good enough "friend" for you to allow ride your bike, then you probably knew his personality and that he'd be the type to run from po-po doing a buck on the highway. sorry about the bike and your friend though bro

i am worried bout how bad he wuz hurt.. i wuz the first person in the emergency room 15 min after it happened.. even beat his wife there.. and me n him are really good friends. i suspect hes gonna make it right and own up to the situation. the first thing he said as they were cuttin off his clothes when i walked in was "sorry bout ur bike bro" even though the agony he wuz goin through at the time... i don't know what kinda friends you all have but i have friends that i trust with my life and i know hes gonna do the right thing and pay me back so theres no doubt to that so theres no point in any dumbass comments bout "when he gets outta the hospital he's gonna dip out and not pay you"..

with what, your keys in it?

You know, it never looks good to cops, when they find your stolen bike, with the key in it, and you don't call it in stolen tell 30 minutes AFTER 'someone' ran on it
(if that was the case, 99% of stories of peoples vehicle being stolen, the person running and ditching it, then them getting in trouble, is this^)

Re: friend wrecked my bike

First- I never had that happen to me because i am not a dumbass.
Second-That guy will probably no longer be your friend because the chances of him paying for the bike are about 2%.
