Re: quick question guys
My man. I'm not understanding your question. Like homie above said. all other components should also be 520. If your talking chain length then I dont think you have to worry much about that if you're buing a new chain. I think you have plenty of links to go around if your going with 45 teeth in the back. But in the event that you don't, who ever installing your sprockets can add a few. Don't think you're gonna run into any trouble though.

Re: quick question guys
Sounds like you have more research to do....
A 520 chain refers to the size and pitch of the chain. A 520 front sprocket will only work with a 520 chain, and will require a 520 rear sprocket (with however many teeth you want).
The front sprocket is steel and usually wears very slowly. Rear sprockets are made of aluminum and wear much quicker, which is easy and obvious to see just by looking at how the teeth are wearing (more into peaks or points).
Most people at least change the chain and rear sprocket as a set, and a lot of people (me included) do all three together to make sure they wear evenly and I'm getting the best bang for my buck on the whole system.

Re: quick question guys
if you are going with a sprocket any smaller than 50 teeth than please go with steel. if you go with aluminum u gotta go big otherwise youll find teeth missing on the sprocket one day. they dont last.

Re: quick question guys
-1/+4 is going to be a significant difference...even -1/+2 is a nice difference for the street, but +3, +4 or +5 are all very decent street combos.
Expect to run fairly high rpms on the highway at -1/+4....my 954 was -1/+5 for a few years and it was pretty aggressive. Lots of vibrations through the bars and it got annoying having my hands and feet go numb after an hour of riding at high rpm.
Good luck.

Re: quick question guys
Alright dude, you've kinda got a general idea of what your talkin about, but you've got your **** all mixed up. Like JasonS1 said above, 520, or 525 in your case only refers to chain size and pitch, nothing else. When you buy a new sprocket, (doesn't matter if its front or back) you have to make sure the pitches/size match the chain and other sprocket or it will **** all sorts of **** up. So if you went to order a new front sprocket for your bike, you would ask for something like a 525 17 front sprocket for example. This indicates the pitch/size, and also how many teeth you want. Also, when your throwing down numbers like 49/15, your just making yourself look stupid, its 15 up front, 49 out back, or 15/49.....gotta work on that brotha or these guys will eat ur *** alive, lol they enjoy pickin on us noobs lol
