doin a frontend swap on my f4i, do i still need the 954 929 trips or does the rc51 work??? how bout f4i calipers and rotors on the rc51 forks?? dont have the setup yet, its on its way

 

i think it depends on what rc51 trips u get...what i heare is sp1 model work sp2 model dont(top bearing is different) not sure bout the brake calpers but i dont think the rotors will fit f4i rotors are smaller diamiter i believe...not 100% on this info but that is what im thinkin...not much help huh??? sry..lol

get 954 triples, the rest rc51. except calipers, you can use those..

 

there is a diffrence from the 919 SP1 & the 919 SP2.... the stem on the
SP2 is fatter and so is the upper Bearing.. (you would have to find
a local Bearing shop and measure the inner frame hole and the Stem to
get a new bearing, If you got the SP2)

neither rc51 triples will work.. the bottom bearing is to big for the f4i frame. ive done this swap twice now and everything bolts right up except the triples. u gotta get some 929/954's or u can fight tooth and nail trying to mod the rc51 triple..

oh yeah the rc51 top triple works with the 954 lower..bolts right on..so only the bottom is needed

 

oh by the way, i have a complete minty rc51 frontend i was thinking of selling if anybodys interested. not cheap though..

complete frontend w sp2 rim $700 shipped thats every thing from the levers to the fender and everything in between

so heres my deal... i was offered rc51 forks with triples for $200.. as of right now i dont have much $.. so i was tryin to see what i could peice together with it... i dunno if its such a good deal bein as i still need to buy rotors and a wheel, knowing rc51 **** aint cheap...

 

yo same w/ 929/954 stuff...its like its made of gold...and hard to find...i think the 1000rr tripple works too..not sure tho but i think so

 

You can use a couple different top clamps, but on the lower triple you need the 929 or 954.

929/954 rotors are much larger than F4i.

Calipers are the same.

 

tha 1000rr trips will work im runnin it on my f4i

 

btw if u need trips i know somone who has whatever ya need

 

there is a guy out of southern Ohio that did the conversion he had to use the 929 / 954 lower tripple and he ran stock f4i front wheel I'll ask him what his name is on here and u can talk directly to him
