carb issues, little help?

hey guys i got an 02 r6 with jetted carbs, i just recently put in even smaller main jets to see it that could help and it did, can power up on 1 in 2nd gear now but my idle is messed up.
when i blip the throttle, the rpms hang up at around 2-3k for 3-8 seconds
then it idles back down to around 1 grand. ived tried to richen it a few times and now ive backed the mix screws out to 3 turns, is this to much or can i keep going? it seems to be alittle better now but still hangs up a bit.

ANY Advice?
thanks

put stockers back in and clean the carbs......then try different ways and see what works.....

Re: carb issues, little help?

you guys arnt helping me here, you want me to put the stock jets back in with dif. needles. ive heard that doesnt work. the stock jets are 148 and 152 i think and right now im running 138 and 140 and you want me to put 152s back in? wont i be running supper ******* lean then? id have to turn my mixture screws all the way out or just take them out compleately so i think you guys dont understand what im asking,
sorry not to be all bitchy but ive ripped my tank and air box and carbs off like 9 times in the past 2 days and im pooped of it so i came on here to see if anyone has had this problem before i read something about it on r6forum but im not about to pay to ask a few Qs

but thanks anyway, i think im just gonna rip it apart a few more times and richen it up a little more each time and that should get it eventually. i think

Re: carb issues, little help?

you have to balance the carbs.. once they are in sync the idle problem will be sorted, also have the carbs been sonic cleaned. ? whenever a bike comes to my shop with this problem thats all i ever do , take the carbs off strip em out put the jets into a sonic cleaner, refit and balance/sync them up. always works for me ( as a bike mechanic).. to be honest the smallest piece of crap in a jet will make it do this so i would start there..

hope this helps.
