I need to shorten my pipe and its carbon fiber. I think I seen something where you mark it and then use masking tape to keep it from fraying. Sound right? Also what should I use a hacksaw with a fine blade or just a dremmel with a cut off wheel?

^^^ carbon aint cheap to play around with, even if it is a spare.

you gotta find out what kind of CF it is, because how it was made would depend on how it reacts when you try to cut it. Im sure if you either Wiki it, or do a little googling, you should be good to go

True^^^^^^ but is really is a spare, i got it off of one of my old broke down bikes, like a 89 kawi so i dont have no use for it, and it is kinda rusting over anyways.

im glad someone asked ..... I just used a metal saw to cut mine... now i just need to put it together... lol ... i got a micron that had 4 screws holding it together but that piece is broken when i scraped my pipe the screws fucked up.... i know rivets can hold it but not for long ... anyone got a solution?

p.s. i didnt use any masking tape on mine i just cut it raw

use steel rivets. Rivets are pretty damn strong just make sure the tool is flush with the surface when you rivet the two parts together.

i used electric tape it'll keep it from splitting and just use a hand saw
