I am a noob as well but i can direct you to some good advise as getting bike up smooth, i like to run my tire pressure @ 20 psi that way more tire contacts road and balance from side to side is more stable on take off...

For street wheelies, I pull in the clutch with one finger (to limit how far the lever goes back as to not completely disengage the clutch) and slam the throttle open to about 2/3 then let the clutch lever back out and close the throttle to about < 1/4 all in one smooth motion. As the front wheel lifts, I roll slightly on the gas to throttle the wheelie up.
When learning, clutch the wheelie up so that the front end has enough momentum to get you off the gound then use the throttle to bring the bike up to BP. Eventually you will get comfortable with clutching the bike straight to BP. Then you are ready for the lots!
now it will feel weird for a while when standing in various positions but this is the smoothest way I have found to be able to multi task with movement when starting a wheelie if it was from rear pegs on tail seat or front pegs it seems to help alot, side to side balance is important as well to much weight one side your bike will lean and begin to go in directions other then straight

oh yeah most important part, Be safe wear your gear, take your time 1 rev at a time....
I used to be a hurry freak till i all most destroyed my bike, and another thing i used to think well i dont want my bike broken, well if thats your only bike and u spent a good deal of money for it, respect the bike and choose, cause you will drop it and i mean will drop it.... some type of crash cage is highly recomended
