Poor Man's cage extenders for $8.93

$8.93 at Home Depot.
2 - 3" 3/4" bolts
2 - 3/4 nuts

Now you can use your own method to secure them in there I just wrapped em with Industrial Strength black duct tape and pounded them in.

Also I only tried this on a SI cage. Again this is for people that dont have 60 bucks to spend and dont want their bike rollin over in those rare instances it goes down while training, like me. Later guys.

Its fine in a small drop but in a big wreck it will put more stress on just one spot, plus it could destroy your knee or something it you bring it down from a 12.

+1, Id lose the nut and stick the bolt all the way in,that way the tube doesnt get bent and make it hard to remove motor mount

Re: Poor Man's cage extenders for $8.93

if your such a brokedick why not just buy a stick of UHMV or DELRIN rod and cut and lathe it into sliders??? its just as cheap if not cheaper and will actually disperse/absorb the impact

Re: Poor Man's cage extenders for $8.93

Re: Poor Man's cage extenders for $8.93

If its there to prevent roll over....the cracks or breaks in the ground are gonna grab that bolt (bend the cage tube) easier than the cage it self....plus if that ****** lands on you, you will instantly regret those bolts

Re: Poor Man's cage extenders for $8.93

Feedback is what I wanted and got it, thanks. I thought delrin was expensive? If not Ill go that route, and the bolt gripping the ground I never thought of. Good point. Im going back to square 1.

Re: Poor Man's cage extenders for $8.93

How would you get a Derlin rod in there and secure? If it had threads they would strip on impact? Or how are those mounted into the cage "homemade"?

theres a hole that goes through the diameter of the slider and cage.....simply line up the holes and slide a bolt through

Re: Poor Man's cage extenders for $8.93

I dont see what the difference is between these and the aluminum SI sliders. If either of these catch your leg youre fucked.
