and i do believe it was bill d that showed dan how to fix it with a radiator cap that has 1.3 on the pressure rating not 1.1 and it does work well.

could be a malfuctioning thermostat. my friends 05 636 used to spit coolant even with the fan hard wired.. if all else fails get a new radiator.

mine used to overheat a lot. turned out to be the radiator neck that was slightly tweaked so the cap didn't seal properly, wouldn't hold pressure, etc......new(used) radiator fixed it

Re: 05 636 Overheat problem!!

i know this sounda REALLY dumb, but check your coolant.
my 636 was overheating and getting really hot, i didnt think to check the coolant since the weekend before i just flushed and replaced the coolant with engine ice.
luckily i fixed the problem right away, but it turned out that i got a small knick/cut in my line and lost almost all my fluid on the way to the lot. and i never saw a wet spot or noticed it until the temp got really high.
i checked everthing else first other than the coolant
then finally checked the coolant........ fixed the leak, refilled, now i run around average 208-212 in the lot at a high idle, which is pretty low.
MORAL OF THE STORY......CHECK THE EASIEST MOST OBVIOUS STUFF FIRST.
