how did you learn idle?

So before last year i had been on sportbikes for a few years and could ride 2nd and 3rd gear highway wheelies for as long as I wanted. I started gettin into the slow **** last fall with tryin to use the brake and got no where for like a month of tryin a couple hours almost everyday. I didnt have a handbrake yet plus everyone said the footbrake was the right way to learn. I got pissed after awhile so I bought a crappy handbrake thinkin that would be easier cause I grew up ridin bmx. I got idle pretty quick after I got the handbrake and started tryin some combos and a few months later(now) I got circles pretty much on lock. Who else cant use a footbrake to save thier life? haha

Re: how did you learn idle?

For sure still learning foot brake before I move up. I have a handbrake on my bike but I took the lever off so I wouldnt be tempted to shortcut it and use the handbrake instead lol

I'm getting idle, only thing im noticing is theres not a whole lot you can do in idle at staggard stance its difficult to move around at all as your foot has to stay on the brake for cover.

I completely agree that sitdown footbrake tricks are pimpest kind and i wish i knew how to use it but I definitley dont regret gettin a handbrake setup and usin it before learning the footbrake. I'll probably learn it someday... maybe

Re: how did you learn idle?

to me if all a person can do is HB and they cant use footbrake then they might as well go get in the DUMPSTER and stay there, because thats wht that is

seriously thats the most squid ****, might as well be one of those squids that always say "you have to have a big sprocket and handbrake to do wheelies"

Re: how did you learn idle?

Too many people are becoming too dependent on HB. Look at the old school vids posted in the video section, HB's werent even around! Newbs wonder y they get flammed and it's because they get a bike, get all the best stunt parts for them and just think they should be able to do all the **** they see in vids. U should be able to ride a SS without a HB b4 ur allowed to get one. So learn ur FB!!!

Re: how did you learn idle?

last year I started playing with foot braking my 2nd and 3rd gear highway wheelies. I just picked up a stunt bike that has a hand brake on it, but I want to get using the foot brake dialed in before moving on. when I got the bike it had -2, +4 gearing. I pick up my bike from the shop tomorrow with 16, 60 gearing. hoping that the new gearing will help a bit.
