Paint with solvant base

Hii every body , i am a french rider , and i prepare my f4i for stunt.

I search paint with solvant base (not with water base) but in France the sell of this is forbidden.
I have find on ebay un seller of paint.
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/TCPGloba..._ipgZQQ_sasiZ1

I thinks this is solvant base paint , but a dont understand the differance :
-Acrylic urethane
-Urethane basecoat
-Acrylic enamel
-Acrylic lacquer

I want a mat paint diluted with solvent and after varnish + hardener.

Help me please.

Re: Paint with solvant base

All paints basically fall under two solvent categories which define their type; mineral spirit based or water based. In common convention these paints are referred to as oil based paint (alkyd resin base thinned with mineral spirits) or latex based paint (water thinned).

If you are looking for a Mat finish then you wont want to use Acrylic enamel or Acrylic lacquer as they both will give you a gloss finish. The only way i know of to get a sealed mat finish is with ready to spray Lacquer from auto zone... That **** wont shine but seals the base coat well enought to preserve your color.

Re: Paint with solvant base

base coat and then clearcoat is what you want? why not just use a single stage paint with a hardener then buff it.

What he said, you want base coat, clear coat!! I used acrylic single stage on my bike, shines just like a base/clear job. Its all in how you prep, but yeah multiple layers and effects ur gunna base/clear it.
