I broke my subframe tonight it was bound to happen. i know, squid move. that will teach me to cover that rear brake.

A guy I know has broken his gixxer subframe around 3 times already,I've seen a post where someone used diamond plate aluminum to gusset both sides of the subframe,something you might wanna try

 

I've got a subframe that is slightly tweaked ill sell ya for cheap...i reached back and touched 12 with it when i had the plastics off while they were getting painted, without the plastics it was more like 1 o clock.
Needless to say the end result of that one wasnt much fun...

 

you might wanna try and switch to the 06-07 subframe since its two parts and use a impatech round bar. The 08 subframe is like paper and just wants to be broke. Can't hold out untill mine does lol

 

Pretty sure the 06-09 are all the same subframe, i may be wrong but im pretty sure they are the same

 

i just broke mine too just had it welded three days ago and now it broke at the new weld and the other ide but were the mounting tab is on the frame

 

the 06-07 subframes are different from the 08-09

 

i got mine welded back together. he said he wouldnt feel safe reinforcing it because its a little tweaked, but if i can get one for cheap thats straight he would have no problem doing it

 

mine also broke wear the bolt goes through the subframe and gas tank

 

talk to son dooby from impaktech... he makes sub frame cages (as well as subcages)... its a steel frame that goes around the subframe... i got one... its the ******* ****... think he makes em with round bars and flat bars...

I got the 05 7shitty... no matter the year they are garbage... mine broke on both sides of the left side, lower mounting bolt... had it welded, and got the cage...

 

why do people always bash on gsxrs? Try to not slam the ******* thing into the ground and **** will not break! I have had so many along with f4i and 636 and a r6 and really they all hold up the same as long as you don't ****** through your bike down the road. No matter what bike you have it's gonna get fucked up when you learn I don't care what bike it is, Oh and NO the subframes are not same from 06 up. 06-07 is a two piece and 08-09 is one so I would change it out for the two

 

im learning on the gsxr so i know its gunna go down. it went down tonight pretty hard and the welds held up good. i have a friend that said he would box my subframe if i bring him one that isnt tweaked

 

that wasn't for you by any means it was to the other guy saying all year gsxrs are junk. Also you pick one hell of a year to use for stunting cause they have many corks about them that I am still figuring out. Like the idle not wanting to be adjust cause the ecu wants it at 1400 and there is a sensor in the TB's that self adjusts it. Anyhow I just set my 08 to 2500 and it's smooth and not so chopy. Good luck on that beast

 

i got a pretty ghetto set up for my idle. I keep mine around 4k and it runs fine

 

IMPAKTECK IS THE BALLER SETUP FOR SUBFRAMES ON GIXXERS....but, if ur a cheap bastard like me, just get some diamond polate and rivet it directly to ur rear section of subframe...make sure the bolts to ur bar and main subframe go threw the diamond plate too...put it back together and ur good to go...i weigh 250 and spanked mine many of times....iit was broke b4 i even got it and ghettoed it up...worked perfect..

i jus broke mine too. right where the subframe bolts to the frame at the factory weld. im gonna reweld it an try to reinforce it.
