stock clipons f4 99-00
i just bought this carbed f4 (2000 year) and i am trying to set it up comfy
so i was trying to figure out how to flip the clip ons ... didnt manage after all ... can it be done on this model ?
what if i will loosen up a bit turn it a little bit more to 0 degree and then tighten it up, would this be a inconvenient ? (asking this because it has a slight prolongation that fits in the upper triple and locks the clipon there ... and it cannot be turned unless that prolongation is removed from that lock)
hope that i was clear with this lol
how do you guys rock on your F4 with stock clipons ?
thanks

and I dont think that one or other clipon will move (while in a stoppie for example) if that tab is not in the upper triple, therefore locking the clipon

flip them means to put them on opposite sides, by doing this, you can turn them out and gain a little more clearance from hitting the fairing if you are still running it. you don't need the tab, after market bars don't have it, I believe the main purpose of it is to perfectly align the bars, not so much as a safety feature. Having that tab lock into the bottom of the top clamp will allow the MFG to build that portion of the bike faster without measuring each bike or making a tool to gauge the bars on the production line.

yep!, you have a couple options, easiest is just to grind that tab off, and push them out. Snotrocket has that on his F4i, I personally dont like the clip ons angled down.
To flip them side to side so that the bars angle up (the picture), you need to grind the tops down. Just put the clip on upside down and grind off what hits until its flush. If you go this way, the bars are kinda low. The stock clip on may not be long enough to mount a hb, but some people make it work.
Or get aftermarket FIs, then you can just replace the tube when you bend em!
