around 260-280 is when your oil starts to break down i believe, so i wouldnt want my piece anywhere over 230

It'll be nice to run 200 all day,When I put the r6 fans and header wrap on I'll post up the difference in temp, should be hot for the next couple days so I hope my best friend the UPS guy, will show up with some parts tomorrow.

turning the bike off only works if you got a fan switch that you can leave on or if you can leave the bike off for a while bikes get hotter even after theyre turned off

Re: How hot is too hot?

My old cbr600rr used to run around the 230 mark at the spot, i never did cool down laps just always stayed at that amount

When I did a joint stunt show at a race track i didnt keep an eye on the heat, I was doing a 4th gear burnout and my radiator blew a hole, i looked at temp gauge and it said 302

Then the bike just started smoking heaps like steam everywhere and i pushed it into a feild and it cut out on its side and just lay there smoking for a while

didnt start it again till I got a new radiator, chucked some new coolant in, started it up and it ran fine, nothing was wrong and it went hard for another 6 months till i sold it

Re: How hot is too hot?

i have an idea to control temp that might help. you can buy a device that clips on the front of a travel kennel that has a fan which holds ice packs, blows the cold air from the icepack into the kennel. Figure out a way to rig that up with 2 or 3 fans and you would be golden like a shower.

Water boils at 220. Add 50% antifreeze and it boils at about 265.

Also, when you raise the pressure, you raise the boiling point.
Your cap controls pressure, which controls boiling point.

If the **** aint spewin out or burnin your flesh, f**k it!!
