Chain / Sprocket question
Hey guy's just order new 15 F 56 R chain/sprocket set for my F4I ... only thing is Chain is way to big... how many links are you guys running with that setup? or give me an estimate on how manny links I should have.
I always seem to cut to many links off for some reason.. any tips on how to guesstimate how many links you need to cut?

Re: Chain / Sprocket question
You take how many teeth your adding and divide that number by 2 and add 1, then you take that and add it to how many links your bike has stock. So if your going up 14 teeth on a 108 link stock chain, it would be 14 / 2 = 7 + 1 = 8 + 108 = 116 links.

Re: Chain / Sprocket question
I bolt the sprocket on the wheel.. put the wheel on the bike.. run the wheel shaft or axial adjusters all the way in the swing arm.. slide axle all the way up.. snug axial.. run chain around front sprocket, and down around rear sprocket.. And that should allow you to guesstimate where about to break the chain…

i have never heard that before, i always do like the other dude and measure on the bike. i think i might have to test that theory out and seeing as i need a chain on my bikeit mat be soon. do you have equation for stretching bike out? that would be handy at work

Re: Chain / Sprocket question
Done it a 10000 times like this and works perfect, call vortex and they will tell you the same thing. I still push the axle foward all the way to check it to make sure before i cut, but everytime it works out to being what the math says it should be, i just use the math to make sure i order a long enough chain. No dont know what it would be for stretching a bike.
