Lawyer?

Anybody know the name of that one guy who knows a lot of stuff about traffic tickets and everything? I remember seeing some of his posts a few months ago, his avatar is him riding the dragon I think.

I got a bogus reckless driving ticket today, and I wanted some advice on what to do.

I got pulled over for a wheelie that I didn't even do. And that the cop didn't even see. Supposedly a cop down the road saw me do a wheelie, yet that cop never pulled me over, and never showed up. He called ahead to have them try to stop me? The officer who pulled me over wouldn't tell me where that cop was, or why he didn't come get me.

Do they really have a case if no one saw it? If I was gonna wheelie I wouldn't do it on a main road like that anyway. I asked him if he would write it for unsafe acceleration since he was convinced that I did it, and he said that doesn't exist in virginia. I've already got a reckless so i can't afford another ticket on my record.

Re: Lawyer?

Misdemeanor commited outside the view of an officer. A third party would have to press charges in order for the ticket to be valid.

Re: Lawyer?

Word. He didn't really get as much information as I wanted to give him tho. I got on google earth and mapped out where the "wheelie" had to have occured at and where the cops were located, and figured out that the closest cop to us was still .7 miles away so theres no way he could tell if we were being reckless.

I even told him that I was pulled over for my front tire coming off the ground, but that I never broke the speed limit, and he didn't see what was reckless about that.

Hoping it's either thrown out due to lack of evidence, or I can plead to a lesser charge, or agree to take a DIP class or something.

But who knows, he did awesome last time so hopefully it'll go well again. So much for getting my clip-ons and twelve bar soon tho, 750 bucks for attorney fees

Re: Lawyer?

yeah they don't **** around in va... the cops around roanoke are over-zealous douchebags too.

we have some of the most bogus traffic laws in the country.
no radar detectors, and they throw reckless driving tickets around like crazy ( and reckless is a criminal offense in va)

two years ago we had this bogus thing where if you got a reckless you had to pay a fine three years in a row, so my ticket was gonna be like 1500 dollars all together.
