Learning how to drift...tip me

Re: Learning how to drift...tip me
to the reference about the sliding of the ice bike to learn how to drift....not even close, i can drift pretty god damned good on a streetbike, but dirtbikes on ice are a completely different ball game, yeah i could back it in and all, but not to the point of dragin pegs......if you wanna learn how to drift, pump your tire up to about 40 pounds, and practice skiding and counter steering, once you get comfortable making "u's" then start powering outta them with droppin the clutch, the only danger in drifting is high siding, so keep the bike low (having a fake left leg is nice for this cause i don't skin my ankle anymore)

Re: Learning how to drift...tip me
this is how i explained it to my boy and he got it pretty quick.. Remember back when you were on your pedal bike and you used to do foot down 180 skids?? well remember when you would put your foot down?? yeah.. thats when you pop the clutch, give the head alittle shimmy as you let the clutch out, it gives you a wider start.. and no.. NO FRONT BRAKE!

Re: Learning how to drift...tip me
tried it today...the **** is not easy,
when you let go of the throttle the bike violently wants to highside you
the more youre in a counter steering position (bike leaned and body upright) it feels fishy
leaning into it im guessing is for more advanced? because its creepy as ****!

Re: Learning how to drift...tip me
the key to drifting is staying low, i've lowsided plenty, but knock on wood, not a highside yet, if you keep the bike low you wont wreck hard, it's the highsides that will break ****.
