Re: Moose Easy Pull System

all you need is the moose ez-pull lever. if it is still hard either lube the clutch cable or buy a new one.

Re: Moose Easy Pull System

i never understood why people run these, every bike i have ever seen with one of those i went up and pulled the clutch.........BAM instant flashbacks of riding a 1976 harley with the original clutch cable on it....GARBAGE just run the msr or moose easypull lever and perch thats all you need

+1 if youre using an old cable its probably clogged up with all sorts of dirt and gunk. a new cable with some lube and an ez pull lever should be butter. make sure when you install the ez pull lever you put the cable in the hole closest to you when youre sitting on the bike - thats the ez pull setting

Re: Moose Easy Pull System

What's the best way to lube your clutch cable? I have a moose easy pull lever on my f4i and just pulled it all apart and lubed the bearing in the lever and sprayed wd40 down the clutch lever. Is there a better way of lubing the cable or is this good?

Re: Moose Easy Pull System

And just in case you wanna go crazy and get an easier pull you can do the clutch arm mod but its not as easy as the F4i or 636 Here's a pic I found online of the R6 clutch arm. It sits right next to the case so you have no room.

Here's a pic of the clutch arm mod done to a 600rr which is similar in that theres no room. A guy from SUSA made this crazy contraption. I heard at first that he liked it and it worked well but Ive since heard that he got rid of it but dont know the final result

Im sure you could ghetto rig your **** somehow like this guy did and even though ghetto rigged, IMO it'd still be A LOT safer than using that moose pulley system

Re: Moose Easy Pull System

Easiest way to lube your cable is with this tool

http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/08-0182/

It hooks over your cable and you just keep spraying the lube until you see it come out by the case.

And I wouldnt use WD40. From what I remember when I was looking into it is its not a lubricant and eventually dries your cable out more. Buy a $10 bottle of cable lube.

You can find it cheaper if you search online

Re: Moose Easy Pull System

i had the inline easy pull for awhile on my first f4i and it snaped the clutchline as well.
also happened to a couple friends.

i decided to look at why and what i came up with is this.

the system works great if you dont mind the extra 5-6 inches of cable it gives you and doing a little work to it.

i took the rocker arm out of the easy pull and saw that all its edges where the cable holes were had very sharp edges on them.

i took a dremel tool with a small deburring tip and smoothed them all out,i also did this to the cable adjusters.

then with some good cablelube it works great and wont frey the cable

i since switched to a easypull perch and lever and havent gone back. the old inline is sittin in the shelf

only issue with the perchand lever is it doesnt allow alot of room with a brembo, not sure about other handbrakes, but i think someone else already said that.

Its all preference just like everything else with wheelies. Some people could say I dont know why someone would rock a brembo when a 1000rr master is good enough. All personal preference.

Re: Moose Easy Pull System

I saw Jorian is using the EZ pull adaptor as well, I bought it Charlie and to be honest didn't notice much difference and it was in the way so I just took it off. Try the mod where you can have a longer leverage plate on the motor so you can have a cheap easy pull. The SL link is on our facebook forum if you can't find the info.

Re: Moose Easy Pull System

Guys his clutch is not all that stiff.. he has a dirt bike clutch on it now and the pull is as hard as a stock clutch.. which isnt hard..

I run a Moose Easy pull, and mine is absolutely butter...

I wouldnt trust that contraption for the thing has too many moving parts...

Re: Moose Easy Pull System

I have the Moose Easy Pull Lever but haven't had the bike together to use it. I am interested in the whole clutch arm mod but can't find anything on it when I do a search. Anybody have a link to a write up on it?
