Once ya have learned to cover the clutch ya will never look back !!!
It gets ya out of so many situations plus its a lot safer.
Stick with it

but this might sound dumb but have you tried the clutch on the bottom and hb on top cause I know a guy around me named nick1000 who murders it that way and he finds it easier

Re: how to use hb and clutch at the same time

Subscribe, I was gonna start a thread about this but didn't wanna get laughed at so Thanks Havok..

I'm at the point where I have to learn this too or else my progress will not be as good or what direction I wanna go. I have the same reaction as you, as soon as I start or know I will highside I just hit the killswitch and the bike stands right straight like I would stall it with the clutch but then it's all done I gotta start her back up. I have a good feeling of what a stall with the clutch would feel like now but everytime I pull the clutch I end up pulling it at the wrong time either the front wheel wants to slam down or back. Then I let the clutch go if the front wheel is setting down to bring it back up and that's when it gets really sketchy. Please help. I know once I pull the clutch in if it slams down I should keep it pulled in maybe but how do you know when to pull it in?

When I 1st got a handbrake I made myself cover both right away. The clutch was never a problem cause I was used to covering it.

+1 I learned using the clutch/hb method right away. I see people who got the HB on lock but cant switch to using clutch/hb. MikeM told me not to learn bad habits and practice the right way from the beginning which I did and now couldnt picture doing it any other way

Re: how to use hb and clutch at the same time

Same here.. I don't have a ton of experience with it yet but I definitely don't have a problem covering/using both at the same time....

I canīt even wheelie with just a finger on the handbrake

Feels more natural when clutching up to keep one finger on each lever
