I see alot of guys with Pro-Taper bars. Pro-Tapers grow on you. First time I saw them I was like WTF are those? Did you steel those off DEBO's Beach Cruiser? LOL My buddy had them on an 86 Honda 250R Fourtrax, I fell in love with them, they made all the difference in the world. I felt invincible on that quad. I made babies cry!

I would find a bike shop that has some bars in stock and hold them and see whats comfortable.
I run DB's cuz i ride Motocross alot and its just such an easier transition to jump from one bike to the other.... I run Protapers with a Carmichael bend cuz thats what i have on my dirtbike

Re: Dirtbike bar confusion...??
when i ran dirt bars i tried several different brands and bends. i ended up liking the pro-taper SE with the "CR mid" bend the most. your best bet is gonna be to go to cycle gear and check all the bends out for yourself. hard to tell what will feel best with them off the bike but it will at least give you an idea.
as far as bend is concerned:"highs" generally mean the bar ends point slightly up twords the sky, "mids" usually have bar ends that are parallel to the ground, and "lows" generally have bar ends that roll slightly down twords the ground.
as far as running FF. you can pretty much run FF with any DBs as long as you hack the upper down enough.
hope that helps ya out a little.

Dempsey. Please do me two favors:
Punch yourself in the dick for going dirtbars. You talking about pull thrus and everything. U seen me murdering em on the clipons/FF.
Punch yourself in the dick for thinking of DB's and full fair. God complete lack of taste. If your gonna make a dirtbike dont try to chop up that upper just pack it up in the mail and use my address as the returna nd the destination.
But seriously on my old old f4i i had pastrana bends if that helps.

if you are gonna be running f/f I would get db bars with a big bend in them with a big angle near the grips turning in alot towards you so you can clear as much of the fairing as possible.

Bill D doesn't run DB bars any more. From what I understand he went Convertibars, and wished he'ld done it much sooner. I'ld go Convertibars, or wait a month or two and get the Thorpe bars...
