indoor stunt park in Michigan
ok been kickin around the idea of the indoor stunt park thing with my boss and he thinks it soubds like a good idea. Only problem he's finding is will there be enough interest to pay the bills because we are projecting rent on the building to be 25000 a month. So my question to you guys is who would come and what would you be willing to pay to use it.
Thanks
Travis

Re: indoor stunt park in Michigan
no one has even successfully made an outdoor riding park.....stunters are constantly broke. i dont see anyway you could foot 25000 a month from stuntriders...maybe if you had some serious advertising sponsors or something but even then i personally dont see a stunt park that charges to ride being realistic at this stage of the game.

buy a parking lot in the middle of nowhere
it'd be way cheaper, plus theres probably a lot of shitty regulations regarding that many sportbikes running indoors.
u'd need some serious ventilation

With rent projected @ 25000 a month, 300,000 a year I think it would be a better decision to purchase land then pour a slab or pave and build from there. Monthly cost would be a lot less.

Sadly, 25K a month is reasonable for a manufacturing building (one that would be big enough for indoor stunting). I would look into old warehouses or cross docking stations that the big trucking companies use. With this economy I have seen a lot showing up for lease as trucking compnies go under. These buildings can be pretty big, and the rent is a lot cheaper since they don't have the utilites required to support manufacturing. The downside is that they usually aren't heated, and most of the time they are either on the edge of town or in the middle of nowhere.

I agree on the price thing.. I think your better off getting one of those steel ice rink roofs and putting it over a slab that is heated in the winter
just my 2 cents
There's a couple government buildings here in alaska that have Heated side walks.. Believe it or not.. But we do whatever we can to ride in the winter! Im sure if you got a roof over a heated slab.. despite the cold- ppl would come.. on less Negative freezing days!!! **** ppl snowboard?

Re: indoor stunt park in Michigan
why dont u just pour like everyone sayin and build a shed thingy with no walls because it someone loses there bike there another bill or do like I think its in france when I saw it nice slab with brick walls up with fencing around the top ........but if you want this idea to work get sponsors and do a year fee not a month by month deal and say sign waivers but all in all I can't see it lasting long
But its a rad idea

Re: indoor stunt park in Michigan
As someone that spent numerous winters riding in 25 degrees I would pay around $50-$75 for a weekend pass (similar to snowboarding), but at that price I wouldn't be doing it every weekend, would also depend on location. Closer to AA or Detroit is would be ideal based on concentration of stunt riders .... If you did something like $250 for December, Januay, February pass that would be feasible also.

A few of us do.. I bought a set of ice tires from Ryan S. .But I never had time to mount them and wait to find good intel on a lake that was clear of slow..
Some guys jus dont give a **** and do it on lakes with snow - but i take a little bit better care of my body then those

But 25K a month overhead sounds like a poor business decision in my eyes.

Re: indoor stunt park in Michigan
No way that would get covered. There aren't enough real riders around here to even cover it. Plus if it wasn't setup properly, meaning I don't want squids power wheelieing at me I wouldn't even bother.
