Question CBR Front ends?

I am looking for a front end for my '03 600 RR, and would like to know what some good choices are? I heard the 929 fronts are nice... but I have a 05 GSXR 750 front end with r6 4-piston calipers rdy to mount if it would bolt right on.

Alos, if I got a newer 600 RR triple that was meant for 50mm USD forks, could I use any 50mm forks and the rest of the front end with that triple?

Just looking for ways to better the front end.

Very respectfully,
Buz

Thumbs up Re: CBR Front ends?

f4, f4i, 929/954, 600rr/1000rr and rc51 frontends are all interchangable as long as you have the upper n lower tripples as well as bearings and bearing races

Re: CBR Front ends?

954 and rc51 will more than likely be too tall. I'd go with the USD later model forks.

What about an '05 ZX-6 front end? I have one laying right here in front of me. :P

Re: CBR Front ends?

I had a GSXR front end on my F4i - 50mm forks - slid right into the 929 triples. A guy on here gave me some info that I still got saved on how he used GSXR triples on his F4i. One of the brits started a thread with an R1 front end he put on his F4i and it looked I think you could make most 50mm forks work somehow with the 929/954 triples

Re: CBR Front ends?

I have an 06 cbr600rr front end on my 03 600rr. I deff like the way the front end feels compared to what was already on there.

Re: CBR Front ends?

Hmmmz, this is getting a little better. I have a full zx6 front end right here, and I just did the gsxr 750 front end swap to my SV1000S.

Re: CBR Front ends?

05-06 600rr or a 04-07 1000rr front end would be best and the most simple. me myself i would want a 07 1000rr front end or go all out and use a 954 lower and a hohey upper tripple with a 06ish r1 forks, wheel, brakes, master. and top it off with some 10 degree vortex clip ons slightly turned out with a REAL ohlins stabilizer. that would be ideal in my book.
but then again, maybe a newer zx6 front end would be okk too.

wow, that actually gave me a little chubby thinking about a rr set up like that...
