it's optional here but i always wear my helmet, aa couple months ago i went down and my helmet was the first thing that hit, face first, after picking up the bike my first thought was this is why i wear a helmet. let the dipshits who dont deal with the consequences

thats for sure if were free to do as we please we should endanger our lives as we please. but you should never endanger others lives in the process. seat belts even cause deaths in some cases but i still wear mine as well as my helmet. took hitting a motorcyclist, with no helmet on, at 44 and having my airbags deploy to notice that their there for a reason. crazily the motorcyclist was fine my new GTO was totaled. talk about a guardian angel.

I don't see why the government believes it's their job to make people stay alive. If you are on a sportbike you (hopefully) know the risks, and if you have enough intelligence to be able to shift the gears and roll away from a stop, you should be smart enough to know that a helmet is safer than no helmet. But if you want to hang yourself, the government can't stop you, so why should there be a law to wear a helmet? Obviously people who care will rock a lid, people who don't, wont. And how many people will live to be a vegetable at a crash with no helmet? I personally don't ride around without a lid, but when I do ride half a block or whatever without one, I feel like I'm much less restricted. I feel safer without one because I don't have a helmet blocking my peripheral (sp) vision (even if it is because of the helmet pushing my hair into the way). Anyway, no more rambling. Free choice FTW.
