Re: pics of snapped frames....

there was a recall on gsxr1000's. Their frames were cracking within a few months of ownership, and normal use. The dealers use a spray dye on the frame that highlights the cracks...

Re: pics of snapped frames....

I just got this 04 zx10 last year and when I get on the zx forums they are all crying about cracked frames from doin wheelies, some guy on here also said the same thing. Thing is ive only seen one picture of a cracked frame and its the same pic everyone posts up bitchin about it. Anyone know if this is a common problem or not, im just skeptical cause ive only seen that one picture posted tons of times.

Re: pics of snapped frames....

there was a thing in europe recently
07/08 ( my bad its k5/6 frames) gixxer thous breaking at the headstock
not an official recall but recommended to take the bikes to the dealers for fitment of a 1 kg brace that slots behind the headstock
and a big case going thru the courts cos a lad got fucked up at the manx when his frame snapped (baby iom tt for those that dont know)
have a look round http://www.motorcyclenews.com/ i found it there

heres how it goes
Suzuki Gsxr Frame Recall

Suzuki GSXR Frame Recall

With reference to the recent Suzuki GSXR 1000 K5/6 frame recall can I firstly introduce myself , I am Alan Jackson Jnr an Isle of Man TT 750 Production Class winner 2003 & the “Outright Lap Record Holder” for the Manx Grand Prix.

I sustained very serious injuries when my GSXR 750 K6 frame failed during a practise session for the MGP 2006. The bike had covered very little mileage from new.

I am about to file High Court proceedings for a breach of the Consumer Protection Act. This is not an isolated incident. If anyone else has been similarly seriously injured, I would appreciate you contact my solicitor Warren Collins (a specialist products liability lawyer) at Davies Arnold Cooper in London: www.injuryclaims.dac.co.uk
