around how much money has everyone that has parted a bike made on average



i have an f4i i dont know if i should part it out or sell it as whole

it all done up nice best of everything front end cage painted frame tank ect...

 

sell me that tank!!!!

ball park on how much people are getting for a full part out ??????????

 

there really isn't a ball park on parting a bike out cuz you can't count on everything selling. At the very least wait for someone to buy the frame and motor before you start to tear it apart, then you can gauge how much you want to charge for everything else to get around what your looking for


if the bike is nice its worth selling it whole and losing a couple hundred on the bike rather than tearing it apart and having to sale each piece and pay shipping, plus its a pain in the *** to part it out and you never end up selling everything.

 

ive parted out many bikes, most bikes i part out have a blown motor or no title etc.. theres always something wrong with them, if they were clean bikes i always try and sell them complete first. if i get nothing but bullshit offers ill part the bike out. i started parting out my 97 yzf1000 in november with a blown motor and made enough to buy my clean title 03 636 with 10,000 miles. and yet i still have lots of the bike left to sell even the clear title frame. if i would have sold it complete i would have got no more then $1500. i sold the head and big bore kit for a grand alone, also got $600 for the busted fairings. if anybody needs any parts for a 97 yzf1000 hit me up i got to many dam parts lying around.

 

you always get more parting a bike out, but it will take forever, your garage will be full of ****, and not all the parts are always gonna sell.

 

In the stunt comunity a stunt f4i can make some good money. In the regular motorcycle comunity it will not being that is was a stunt bike. people are **** as **** with parts they buy. You would probley be better off selling it whole. if you part it you might make a $500 more but with alot of hassle. i say sell it whole with the title.
