00 GSX750 SRAD for stuntbike

Hey, a buddy of mine is trying to get rid of his kinda beat up looking 2000 GSX750 SRAD. Its a 2000 600cc SRAD frame and everything, with a 2000 750cc engine. Has a full yoshi pipe system, and some new jet kit and carb work. He wants $1000 for it. I mean, that is hella cheap, and I want a bike to learn **** on so I dont destroy my 954 right away.

Does anyone here have experience stunting this bike? Any known issues? Is this something that I should pick up to be my crunchy learner bike? Its already kinda crunchy looking, so I dont think I will feel too bad dropping it alot. Just want to know what you guys think this setup might be like for me learning on. I have a 50 that I am learning brake control on now, and then use this to transfer that knowledge to the big bike, and then from there to the 954. Comments? Help me out, Im trying to learn **** the right way, instead of rocking squidly high speed highway wheelies with no brake control like I used to.

Thanks!

No issues with mine. Same work done. Changed the pickup on it for the extra long wheelies.

Re: 00 GSX750 SRAD for stuntbike

you can learn slow wheelies and brake control on ANY bike-I learned on an f2--just get a cage and a sprocket at least 10 up in the rear, that alll you need! --by the way if your gonna care about droping the bike and ******* the bike or yourself up youll NEVER get good!!!!

Re: 00 GSX750 SRAD for stuntbike

Hey, thanks for the helpful replies you guys! I will probably go pick it up tomorrow. And as far as not wanting to **** up my bike or myself... I am all for riding on the edge, and I dont care about crashing. I have been in 2 high speed crashes and im not scurred. I would rather learn the basics on something crunchier than my 954 though. Im sure I will drop the 954, but learning brake control on that, I will **** it up way faster than if I know what Im doing first. So I will destroy the gsxr learning. Then maybe the 954 will last a bit longer!

Hey, what parts do you have? Any stunt parts, sprockets or chains? Feel free to PM me about something you think I might want or need.

Where can I get a different oil pickup? Or would I have to fabricate my own?

Re: 00 GSX750 SRAD for stuntbike

I would like to see how he mounted a 00' 750 motor in the 00' 600 frame? The 00' 750 was a totally new design for the GSXR in 00', while the 00' 600 stayed the same. Mounting points for the motor would be way off.
Post up some pics if you don't mind.

Oil pick, research stuntex oil pick ups.

Re: 00 GSX750 SRAD for stuntbike

Man, Im not sure about the cage anymore. I know the frame is 2000, because the title numbers match. The engine must be a 99 or something, cause it is carbed. I really have no idea what cage would fit on it. Probably a cage for the 2000 GSX600, since the mounting points for the cage are on the frame. I dunno, I will post a pic of the bike within a day or 2 here, see if you guys can tell me what engine you think it is. I know its not much older then a 99 atleast. It runs strong.

If the motor is carbed & a 750, then it's older than 99'. If it's actually a 750 motor than it's either a 96' or 97'. The GSXR 750 went F.I. in 98'.

Re: 00 GSX750 SRAD for stuntbike

a jet kit and carb work????????????????? SRAD 750's have been EFI since 1998 SRAD 600's I dont think ever were EFI, I'm pretty sure 2001 was the first year for EFI on the 600 and it changed to the next body style with the "superman" headlight.... personally I think the fronts of those bikes looked more like a wasp/hornet/yellow jacket but whatever.......
