Re: nut dropped in motor

Another idea would be to tape a straw to a vacuum cleaner and suck it out. Magnets work great, but if you ever drop something non-magnetic in there, it's worth giving it a try. Definitely beats ripping the engine appart....

Re: nut dropped in motor

I dopped a shim in my f4i wile doing the valve adjustment. went down a oil passage. I tried a magnet and I taped a straw to a shop vac neither worked. finally I poured oil down the passage pulled the oil pan and luckily found it. i wouldnt run that bike without getting it out.

Re: nut dropped in motor

dude def just pull the oil pan and pour some oil in the top and shake it till it comes out. at least that nut isnt magnetic like the shim I lost, I thought I was fucked. oh and when your doing motor work shove paper towels down oil passeges or any other crevice that might cause this problem, I know I will from now on.

+1 on the magnetic pointer

Ive fished allen keys out of the gas tank and drain bolts out of oil buckets with them countless times. But I imagine its kind of hard to accomplish when its not quite as simple as dropping it straight down in a gas tank.

Just dont **** up and forget to take the bolt out, i did that...

the smallest of things effect the performance of the pitbikes
ah, the productivity.. if i could only count the pointless nights of beer and mechanic work on the bike. only to wake up the next morning "what the **** was i thinking"

lol dude

then just pull the side cover off and grab it out.. Litearlly 10 minutes of work with the motor off the bike.. Maybe 20-30 minutes with the motor on the bike since you might have to pull the peg bracket and kick start

dont even have to replace the gasket

It's like 10 8mm bolts, pop it off, put it back on, done..

Oh ya, drain the oil or lay the bike on its side or oil will run out!
