636 wheel modification question!

636 wheel modification question!
I've got an 03 zx6rr and was wandering if there was a way to put the zx10r wheels on it without changing the swingarm?
I saw hohey has some bearing modification to fit the 05-06 636 wheels on the 03-04's but aren't they the same size rims anyways? i'm lookin to fit a 6.5" rim so I can put a wider tire on the back without compromising performance.
Lemme know! Thanks

No the ZX10 axle is too small for the 636 swing arm and caliper bracket....You would need to swap out the bearing in the rim, from the 636 rim into the ZX10 rim for it to fit on the 636 axle...Then you need the spacers too

Re: 636 wheel modification question!
its a 600, you don't need a wider wheel, your just gonna make your bike be less manageable in the turns..
If you want a wider tire get a bike that will make good use of a wider tire, a 1000..
Or just throw a 190 on your stock rim and call it a day
If your concerned, I can easily fit a 200mm on my f4i, and it looks wide as ****.. But makes the bike handle like a sack of rocks

Re: 636 wheel modification question!
Im confused why you would want to do that. You can put 190s on the 600 wheels, unless you want to put 200s on it. Anyways I think it would probably less difficult to get the zx10 swing arm fitted instead of just the wheel.

Re: 636 wheel modification question!
But a 180 vs a 190 is only 1cm difference, isn't that big of a deal, and IMO certainly not worth the effort of swapping rims when you can just run a 190 on a 180 rim and still get a 188 profile or something

It isn't going to flaten out at all, it's going to baloon and look more round

Re: 636 wheel modification question!
The reason I'm asking is because I wanted to change my stock wheels to a better looking rim like the newer 636's. And since this is my minty piece and I was going through the hassle of swapping bearings anyways, I thought I'd see how simple it would be to put the 1000's 6" rim on it, that way I could go with a 190 or 200 tire....and I already have a chromed out 636 swingarm that I paid a buttload to get done so I didn't want to have to buy a 1000 swingarm either.
So to do this thing. I need the 1000 rims. Then I just put the 636 wheel bearings and spacers in the rims? and mount it up? That's it? Seems too simple to be all I need to do....
Thanks for your help

Re: 636 wheel modification question!
I've just noticed the 'baloon' more when I put a oversized tire on
THe only street tires I ever ran on my 150f or my friends crf100 were 130mm wide tires! even though the rims made for a 90mm lol...
They don't fit right at all, they just become TOO round so the tread becomes sidewall lol..
(not that I'd recommend running 40mm over on a sport bike, but 10mm is a very small difference)

Re: 636 wheel modification question!
Jason, johnnyP is correct. take 636 bearings, and put them in the zx10 wheels. also use the 636 axle, and 636 spacers.
and for the record, the 190 tire is 10mm wider then the 180, NOT 1 as previously stated.
