Re: Road rash!!!!!!!

hyrogen peroxide.....BATH in the ****.....my worst road rash ever was from mouse tracking a first gear jump to spreader, got ran over by my own bike.....went to work the next day, and the day after.....middle of july, sweating ***** off......this happened ona tuesday, and thursday afternoon my arm smelled gnarly, and had hints of GREEN in the wound....i put a ton of hydrogen peroxide on it, hurt like hell, but by saturday i was able to ride a show with a leather jacket on.......

peroxide eats the good skin

It's 'ok' to use the first time, but dont use it to clean it the next day cause it destroys your skin thats growing..

Soap and water is all you 'really' need... But I personally also use alcohol after soap and water, and jesus christ does it burn lol

edit: i ONLY use alcohol on the first cleaning.. After that just scrubbing with soap and water..
Biggest thing is to make sure you remove all road debris! If theres still black tar or rocks in your rash, then it's most likely gonna get infected

Re: Road rash!!!!!!!

yes, it eats skin, but if you have infected skin, it pretty much solves the problem.

Re: Road rash!!!!!!!

Long Island Iced Teas. That was my solution to to the first time I had road rash. Drank about 8 or so a night until I fell asleep because the pain was so bad. But seriously that Silvadene **** (not sure on spelling either) is the bomb. I've had three cases of bad road rash and that stuff worked the best over everything else I used.
