actually i know the last plate lies in the shallow grooves, i just don't know if it should sit all the way back in the groove or if that right

Re: f4i clutch question?

i think that it has grooves on the disk side of the the plate they need to be clocked in the rite place and it will go in

+1

Also i'm 'pretty sure' the plates go in a SPECIFIC order..

You can't mix n match them (its not just fiber steel fiber steel) its like number 1 fiber, steel, number 2 fiber, steel..

if I remember right

Also teh way that crank case goes on, you gotta turn the clutch arm as you put it on

Re: f4i clutch question?

with an aftermarket clutch there is no 12345 plate like honda states. there is a front wich will only go on one way that has a larger whole in the center then you stack them the last one going it the grooves like you have in your picture. it looks correct but pictures aren't as good as being there then you have to turn the clutch arm as towliee said and it will pop on...my guess is you aren't turning and therfor it feels like it just won't fit.... my 2cents

o'yeah I have one time used a barnett and again there is no 12345 but the last plate I think had green on the end tabs designating it as the last plate...was a while ago but think it was green ink...

+1 on that. I spent probably 40 minutes trying to get the cover on my r6. you gotta twist the arm and hope it catches right. if not, do it again...and again...and again...

Re: f4i clutch question?

plates appear to be in order.

if you cant get the cover on its because of the linkage arm, it has to be turned out 90 degrees or so to clear the pin in the center of the clutch. if you force it, the pin will break.

Re: f4i clutch question?

found the problem...got the wrong clutch cover. the one i bought must be for an f4 or somethin

first pic is the bad cover, you can see the ribs on the inside protrude way too far and hit the clutch stack.

second pic is the correct cover with the ribs cut down.

...again thanks for everyones help.

edit: now where my dough for that bum cover thorpe? lol...no seriously
