quick tire size question

the f4i tire size is a 180-55-17. Will a 190-50-17 fit the wheel?

ya 190 fits perfectly fine, its not the 'best' tire because f4i rims aren't made for 190's, but they fit and don't change the profile THAT much (hell its only 10mm)

I even ran a 200mm tire for a while, although I did have to relearn to ride on it

Re: quick tire size question

the rim size doesnt really matter, you can go up 2-3 tire sizes, what you have to watch for is clearance to your chain. I had a buddy running 180's on his 96 F3, he was mm's from the chain but it fit and never had any issues. Some tires looked retarded because the bead was really sucked in towards center so the tire looked like a mushroom. F3's had 160's didnt they? or was it a 170? I think they were 160.......

Re: quick tire size question

i go back and forth depending on what people give me 190 or 180. i know there is a pressure thread but what about tire pressure guys. mine is around 18 to 20. just wonder mostly what the pros and killer riders run so i can start working on running more pressure.

Re: quick tire size question

I'm happy with the 180 for now, i've heard of people going down to 160-170 for circles, I guess it depends on your riding style/preference. I would imagine that you can compensate with adding more air to the 190 to make it dip quicker... no?
