What type of job are you looking for Ed? Let us know so someone from the industry can chime in.

Also, career centers are everywhere, and they can help build a good aim in your resume. Second, third, fourth opinions can help get the flow and emphasis in the right direction

Good luck!

thats about all they are good for. when it comes to finding you a job you are a 1 legged cat trying to bury a turd on a frozen pond. i have 6 years in the service doing communications, clean shave, clean record, drug free, no tats, no piercings, and they couldnt do **** for me.

Re: resumae

the key to writing a resume is tailoring it to the industry/job you want to get into. I have three different resumes depending on the place I send it into - a generic one, a hospitality based one (the field I wanted to get into) and a Disney based resume (company I wanted to work at). So, in the Disney based resume, I have my previous work employment there listed first in a separate area, then other work experience.

Make sure you double check all margins & spelling errors & verb tenses (stay in present for all or past for all).. those little things really make a difference.

Make sure you list any education you have - college, internship, seminar you took, etc. List your accomplishments.

When describing your job, be specific. Don't say "secretarial duties", say "Responsible for direct input of hospitality data in a timely fashion.".... you know what I mean?
