My 1000 is too quiet ,, especially for the streets ,, you need some noise so the traffic can hear you otherwise you're not gonna be noticed. I need a nice dnd or something.

I run a dnd shorty carbon fiber that's been gutted. I HATE it. Sounds like a jet engine. Workin on re-packing it to hopefully tone it down. If that doesn't work then I'm definitely findin a stock.

Down to the rider.

Loud cans lead the risk of drawing attention and upsetting locals.

But still nothing like rocking it in a low gear and making some noise. Plus over run back fires :D

Re: Exhaust: Loud or Quiet

if you are all legit = loud - keeps the other drivers hearing ya if they can't see ya.

if your missing paper work or lot bike - quite in case you need to sneak away from po-po

Re: Exhaust: Loud or Quiet

I have a cut down micron. I made a new baffle for it and packed it with fiberglass mat and it is still a little to loud for my taste. It sounds good, but I would like it to be a bit quieter since it isn't tagged or registered. I think once I get the bike tagged I may do a cut down stock can.

Re: Exhaust: Loud or Quiet

I agree with loud on the street and quiet for the lots... unless you have a legit spot that u have permission to be at.... then i say make her scream lol... IDK what it is about D&D but ive always hated them, not sure why... I think its cause all the tools in my town had them back in the day... i guess I relate things with people that irritate me, i think thats why i hate gixxer 1000s ive always related them with tool preps that can only pow wow... which the yut uggh guy kinda speaks for that one... lol im not hatin on all gixxers just not my flavor
