that'll HELP

but if you want to stop it from ever breaking, wrap the entire thing in steel/aluminum and build a cage

don't use the stock mounts to hold it, they are what break. Use your own custom mounts, or DOUBLE up using the stock mounts + a bracket

Re: 636 rad mod

Have it welded! The top mounts are just riveted in have them welded on the edges. and you can also weld a housing out of flat stock on it.. best rad i have seen yet is the one on Krazy Kyles bike! its welded nice!
Also are you running side fairings? the side fairing bolts help a bunch..

Re: 636 rad mod

i took 2 really big zip ties and went around the frame on each side and aroung the 2 spots were the large hoses that connect to the radiator go. ive had a lot of trouble with radiators myself and dont have anything to do a good weld job so my zip ties have been holding up since i put them on a few months ago. works great!

Re: 636 rad mod

all of my tabs have been broke off for about 3 months. since then ive just used 3 "panduit straps" (SP?) they look like huge fat zip ties. they are used in HVAC and ****. looks kinda janky but i havent had a prob with my radiator since. one around the frame on the throttle side and two around the cage on the clutch side. i like the above ideas better but im lazy and have no welding ability.

Re: 636 rad mod

Here is my latest rad mod, from my 09 but its the same as I would do for any Kawi rad....

Added 1/8" x 1/2" 6061 to the front and back of the rad at the top, so it does not bend upwards as you beat on it...And I also cut off the stock tabs, and made my own out of 1/8" 6061 plate...They are much stronger, and overall this rad is solid...

Also drilled holes so I dont loose the top row of fins, that were covered by the strips I added...And just so it looks cool
