thats not going to work if it dont start by the starter you got something wrong..i would check your starter celonid see if you got power there thats the first thing that should work before everything else got to have the engine turning before you can check anything such as spark fuel ect..check the starter relay as well

I thought this too. I let my battery run dead once on my 636 and it would just click under the front seat and not actually kick over.

Re: 636 eletrical problem

use a meter and test the battery when you hit the key 12v that will tell you if its dead or not

Re: 636 eletrical problem

make sure battery is charged. check all fuses. check all connections. check ground wire!, the one that connects to the top of the block under the tank. check starter celenoid.

yea enough energy to open the circuit relay but not enough to kick out the starter solenoid for the starter motor

Re: 636 eletrical problem

I had the same problem, you have the controls pluged in the wrong connector. There are two connectors that that one will go into, switch it and you will be good to go.

is your fuel pump priming?

if not, its just some wire not connected somewhere

it could be a MILLION things.. all the way from a split wire, a unpluged harness, maybe even a bad kill switch or something..

Or it could be as simple as a bad fuel pump or somthing

im guessing its a bad wire somewhere.. goodluck.. ONly thing you can really do is trace your entire wire harness making sure everything is hooked up and no wires are broke

Re: 636 eletrical problem

well now thats you got it crnking do you get spark? check your plugs they might be really wet right now,id say throw the battery on a charger for a while, another one to check is your kickstand switch...unless you dont have the switch hooked up you need to make a loop back wire that will make it think the kickstand is up...thats possible...but there are a lot of possibilities first check to see if you get spark

Re: 636 eletrical problem
