NO NO NO, STICK WITH STOCK F4I, ALL U NEED TO DO IS CHANGE THE FORK OIL TO 15W AND ADJUST YOUR SETTINGS, OTHER FORKS BLOW FORKS SEALS FAST

I CHANGED MINE FOR LOOKS AND CASUE I GOT A GOOD DEAL,
I LIKE HOW F4I FORK SEALS HARDLY EVER GO BAD

There are a few different fork set ups to go with on the f4i....1000rr, 600rr, rc51, 929/954, even seen some R1 forks on em.....search around the "help and how too" section

only problem i see with the f4i forks is they are conventional and not inverted, because of this they are easier to bend. if you don't crash a lot it shouldn't be a problem though.

i think your just fine , that would benefit the heavier riders to change oil,,stiffer springs etc...dont do it urself the spring has tesnion under it and will spring out with force and u would need a special tool to get the spring back in....ask gil he would know if u needed it

some local shop changed my 1000rr seals put in 30w harley davidson oil casue a local stunt rider told them thicker is better, now my forks are wayyyyyyyy to stiff , I cannot roll stoppies farther than 50 ft now ( no balance point) and blew a new fork seal in 1 day...

iam going back to 10w

You can definatly change your own fork oil, just get the manual and pop em open. Never had any trouble getting the spring back in and definatly never used any special tool?? also if you want to change the seals and dont want to buy a driver, just cut a piece of pvc pipe and use that

this is true of inverted, not conventional. f4i forks you pretty much just take off the cap and dump the oil out, then add the required amount. it is very important you put the proper amount of oil in, on an f4i its 15.6 US oz +or- .08 oz

This is what I use to change fork seals/oil in inverted forks.
Conventional forks (like F4i, 01-03 gsxr) do not need a tool.
