I would recommend a quart of color + reducer and a quart of clear + reducer & activator. There is nothing worse than not having enough materials or even worrying about not having enough.

Yea, having more material is better than being short on ****. You know where i can get PPG online? I've been told i cant find it online but these days you can get anything online, just gotta ask around.

Re: Paint Job
I have tried to find Dupont and PPG online and have never had any luck. If you are just going for some straight forward color and not pearl, kandy or heavy flake I would use a cheap base coat and then use house of kolor clear. Any time I am just getting a normal color and nothing fancy I get Crossfire basecoat from NAPA, Crossfire is made by Martin Senour. Then I will use House of Kolor UFC35 clear coat.
If you are not that worried about the results, you can use Crossfire Clear coat as well, it is decent and is not expensive at all. This link will take you to the Martin Senour product sheets, just scroll down until you get to the crossfire section.

But, if you gotta buy the **** over the web, you can try the Kirker ****. I have not used it, but I want to try some of it just to see if it is any good.

im really hate to sound like negative nancy here, but it sounds like your fairings have a good chance of turning out like ****.
if you just want solid colors the cheapest and best way to go would be a single stage paint (no clear). i would recommend using PPG's jobber paint line "OMNI," its really great paint for the cost. it lays down nice and its pretty durable.

regardless if the guy is doing graphics, i would strongly recommend clearing your pieces or at least spraying an intercoat clear on them.

Re: Paint Job
Try the duplicolor paint shop. They come pre-mixed in quarts and you can get them at any autozone. You should be able to order them online as well. The selection is kinda limited, but they do have a primer, clear, and a metal flake clear, as well as basic colors. DUPLICOLOR
