Stabilizers...

I see the GPR rotary based stabilizers, are they practically the same thing as the Scotts? This one is about $60 less than the cheapest price I can get on a Scotts, is it worth it or not?

some people use them and love them. Me and my crew have scott's, although lately most of the pros i've been runnign into have been using a hyperpro dampener.

U ever rode a gixxer?

I think the handling on them is ok....

Some peeps i know just change the fluids in it and it makes it alot better.

I just order a scotts for my 954....and i think they are the best .

ya, a lot of people put thicker oil in the gixxer stock stabilizers. I know poeple take those and replace them with a daytona or something but use stock location. That would be a perfect spot for a hyperpro and judging by the people i know that use them, htey are awsome stabilizers.

yeah i have a 750. it does handle good, because it comes with a stock damper. but my f4i handles better w/o a damper. scotts isnt the only way to go. i got an ohlins & that thing is the ****!. ive heard mixed opinions on the hyper pros. mostly bad tho.

The only reason I say Scotts is the only way to go...........flip your bike over and you'll find out right away w/ a standard top mounted dampner, like Hyperpro & ohlins. They break!! They make great track dampners, but I wouldnt reccomend for serious stunting....just my opinion though!

GPRs leak. And you need at least 3 dampers to keep your stoppies on track

(4:21:35 PM) THADSTROYER: gpr and scotts are basicly the same deal
(4:21:40 PM) THADSTROYER: cept scotts has 2 adjusters
(4:21:46 PM) THADSTROYER: one for low speed and one for high speed
(4:22:02 PM) THADSTROYER: some ppl love them but theyre too complicated for my feeble mind
(4:22:52 PM) THADSTROYER: ive ran gpr on my last 3 bikes and it works well, although i was blowing them out kinda often till i figured out that i was tightening it down too hard to the mount which was pushing up on the stem and blowing seals
(4:24:24 PM) inolen814: yea i just realized i dumbly had the washer on there in addition to the mount
(4:24:34 PM) inolen814: probably what caused my stem to snap
(4:24:34 PM) inolen814: lol
(4:24:37 PM) THADSTROYER: yah that can cause issues lol
(4:24:51 PM) THADSTROYER: cool thing about gpr is if u buy it brand new
(4:24:55 PM) THADSTROYER: and keep the reciept
(4:25:00 PM) THADSTROYER: u get a free rebuild every 18 months
(4:25:07 PM) THADSTROYER: just gotta pay the 10 dollars shipping
(4:27:06 PM) inolen814: LOL
(4:27:10 PM) inolen814: i just realized you pm'd me
(4:27:17 PM) inolen814: because of that thread bump of Mike's
(4:27:20 PM) THADSTROYER: haha yah
(4:27:20 PM) inolen814: that was from 03
(4:27:22 PM) inolen814: LOL

I have the Hyper Pro RSC on my street bike and I like it just fine. the rotary style dampers just werent aesthetically pleasing to me. one of the end caps did come unthreaded and the damper puked on me towards the end of last season. I was 2 weeks out of warranty coverage on it, but HyperPro told me to send it in and they took care of it... sent me a brand spanking new damper. HyperPro is a-ok in my book.

Re: Stabilizers...

currently running a hyperpro on my f4i with no complaint. ran a scotts on my 600rr had to adjust the sweep and run atf fluid for it to work the way i wanted . just picked up a scotts mount for the f4i so the hyperpro is going on the 636. I have heard the gpr is poopie
