Listen to the man. Sounds like a bent valve.

Re: 636 ticking

What makes a cam chain tensioner bad?
My chain has no slack and it seems okay. I removed and put back in just to check it out.

I used a screw driver to listen to the headers. Honestly i can't hear a difference between header pipes. Will this be hard to hear or will it be noticable?

Should i remove the head to check out if there is any bottoming out anywhere and go from there?

Re: 636 ticking

To find a bent valve means you have to lay them all out and measure them right?

Ain't that the truth. I had to redo my valves 3 times to get them all how I wanted them. I was glad I didn't own a yamaha with 20 valves...

before you pull your head

do a compression test..

If your getting good compression across the board, your valve isn't bent
