SI cage vs. Tyger shark cage

I've been reading everything I could find on search for a few days, and still could not decide which cage is better for 03 636.
I know that Tyger shark has life time warranty but it costs 130$ more that SI, money is not problem in my case, I just wanna know is Tyger shark worth that money or should I stick with SI?

and whats advantage and disantvantage on both cages!

Thank you!

Well first i like to say ive been running a tyger shark cage for 1 and 1/2 now on my f4i and i personnally think its the best cage with the looks of a race rail out. the one thing i like the most about it you dont have to cut any more holes in your plastic than the ones for a normal frame slider. the next thing the innovative spring slider, which is big enough so if you ever do drop it so hard, that even a SI cage would bend, u still can get the hardware out of the cage(this is for you johnf). i've seen si cages that had to be cut off to get the motor mount bolts out. another is i dont knock my knees on it when doing certain tricks, si is known for this. Warrenty is another big thing, bruce will always take care of you no matter what. yeah it cost a little more, but you get what you pay for....

tygershark is the chronic.....

Re: SI cage vs. Tyger shark cage

the new kawi cagez have a cross bar now. this helps a lot from any bending or twisting. they have nice clearances for drifting too. you can't go wrong with a lifetime warranty. its worth the extra money IMO.

i heard the same crap with the rolling over the sliders. I'd go with the si cage cause of looks and functionality

Re: SI cage vs. Tyger shark cage

i've never had a rolling problem with my TS but it could be different on other bikes, in higher speed crashes i've had the bike hop up and spin slightly scratching the tail but thats about it. SI makes a great cage that can take a beating so you would probably be happy with either one, if you do go TS make sure to double check the bolts to keep them snug otherwise after a couple good crashes they get a little loose.

Re: SI cage vs. Tyger shark cage

well i just saw that you live in europe so the warranty that TS offers might not be worth it to you, SI cages are tanks and from what i hear they just updated the design to make them easier to get on and off, it takes alot to bend them and they are well worth the money

Re: SI cage vs. Tyger shark cage

thanx a lot! this pictures helped me! + I figured that that warranty is not big deal cause shipping will cost me a lot and I'll wait to much for cage to be fixed and sent back to Croatia!

Re: SI cage vs. Tyger shark cage

being that you are over seas the ts warranty will not help you. everytime you ship it back and forth you could buy another cage. SI was just upgraded and i put the new one on and it is super easy with a long bolt in the rear now that you just bolt on from one side plus the top tube that bent in the past is thicker wall tubing now because on the 636 the motor mount points are so far apart. the new cage seems to be diesel.
the choice is yours

Re: SI cage vs. Tyger shark cage

The TS is a bit heavy so ive heard (solid round bar, not tube). Every one is right you cant go wrong with any of the cages out there. I think that the SI cage is the best deal, and yeah its built like a tank. I also have a 04 636 and I just got mine bolted on but haven't had time to ride yet... It looks like its got more leg room than a buddys bike with the older SI cage.
hope it helps

I got three f4i's and have tygershark apex stunt cages on all three. His newest ones are even more stout! They fit, they work, they protect!
