Stabilizer Help!!!!

I have seen some guys on here say that the hyperpro and ohlins are the best dampeners but my question is how do they hold up when the bike goes down? what about the Scotts Rotary? is it made by ohlins? what should i get damnit?

I dont want it to get fu*ked up the first time my bike falls...

Re: Stabilizer Help!!!!

don't get the one that top mounts, get a piston style.

there are fork mounts with heim joints you can use.
PM me i'll hook you up.

Re: Stabilizer Help!!!!

I REALLY hate rotary stabilizers. I always ran stick-style ones. One reason is because you can easily rebuild them yourself. I've always liked to put 20w fork oil in them...very nice

Its a damper, not a dampener.

I have a Scotts top mount. Its met the pavement a few times now and it still works fine. Its harder to **** up a top mount than a rod damper.

I disagree. I and many of my boys use a Scotts & GPR and both work great. I'm running the Scotts right now as it seems to be a better quality product but for the $100 difference btw the 2, I think GPR is still a great stabilizer. My bike has gone down plenty of times, hard, and nothing has happend to them.

why would u need to adjust it? I leave mine and "HARD AS MOTHA ****** ****" setting when im riding at all..u get used to it.

and naw if u mount it the right way its easy.

on a 636 u can mount it on the ram air duct and then to the fork.
or an f4i on the neck where the upper is and then to the fork..

gprs are known for having a lil slop in them. and as many people have pointed out. 1/8th of an inch play on the front wheel is alot..

Well it's prefference I gues, I have GPRS on all 3 of my stuntbikes and only had to rebuild my 2nd gen once but buddy had to rebuild his v4 twice allready so that's been since 02 so I gues I'm lucky. I'm driving distance for both and I prefer Gpr because Scotts not nice to his customers

heres mine, kinda ghetto, but it gets the job done and cost about 20bucks. Ive been looking on ebay for a cheap adjustable one cause Id like it less stiff in O's and a little more stiff in stoppies.

I set my scotts all the way hard for stoppies, and a few turns softer for everything else. With it all the way hard, it makes turning on the streets a bitch.

Word. I had a refilled gixxer damper, but I got rid of it because its not adjustable.
