Stunt/street gearing. Gsxr.

I'm tooling around on a 06 Gsxr 750 and I'm tired of stalling. Perhaps I suck at riding, dunno, but I want to give the gsxr a bigger rear and see what happens.

This bike is also my DD, so it has to be streetable and able for long rides without bouncing the limiter. I'm sporting a -1/+2 and I'm thinking about upping the rear to maybe a +6 or +7. I'm sure I'll be fine on the streets with this, but wonder about lotability with the whole stalling out.

What do you other Gsxr guys ride with on and off the streets?

Im going stock on front and +8 rear for my 954. Did it on my 900rr and it was perfect for me. Wasnt rocking slow stuff at the time, but highway cruising was spot on in 6th gear.

Re: Stunt/street gearing. Gsxr.

Its tuff to try to gear a Dual-Purpose bike. Ive always been gix (95 750, 01 600, 02 750 and currently 06 1000 and 03 600) My 750 didnt see lots, hw only.. but a -1 +4 was great on the street and i assume wuld have been moderatly acceptable on a lot. Great tourque off idle and DECENT top end - not great - Id try that and add-sub teeth as needed.. not much but i hope it helps....

Re: Stunt/street gearing. Gsxr.

I got a perfect ratio for you to run my friend. My bike is a everday stunter and in the summer becomes both my everyday ride and my everyday lot bike. Best of both worlds lol.

Im currently running a -1 front and a +7 rear and absolutely love it. Its great for the lots and at the same time can still kill the streets. I wouldn't change my gears for nothing now, I got them right where I want them!

Re: Stunt/street gearing. Gsxr.

i run a 54 on mine... so i guess thats a +11 cause its a 600 and i do just fine on the freeway .. but on your 750 that would only be +9 cause your stock is 45.. so if you only want to go +6 or 7 you would def be ok since 750s have longer gears than 600 s anyways

I've tryed every gearing known to man on my 02 750 from 20 up back then when my clutch technieqes wernt that great and that was crap for the hw now threw the years the better I got at my clutch the les gearing I needed. It all depends how good you r with ur clutch , I have a 54 on there now and its good for the hw and the lot just a little more clutch on ur circles but I think the 59 was better for lot only cuz u can circle that bitch for days without makin ur clutch finger tired. That's with my idle at 2800

Re: Stunt/street gearing. Gsxr.

run stock sprockets! get an easy pull and have fun. I rocked -2, +15 on my 05 gsxr 6 stunt bike and I rock stock on my 05 gsxr 600 street/stunt bike. Just a little more gas when you clutch it up, other then that, seems to idle around almost as easy
