I seen this 6 times this year, can be welded but its very close to the head mating surface and could warp the area that head seals to. On 6 bikes it worked 3 times with no leaking. The other 3 leaked very little, a cup a day or so.
Never had any probs with the head mating surface though. knock on wood.
All bikes did start to leak more as the year went on due to droping the bike. Only real fix is new engine or engine case.

Oh, I also used a nut and bolt my second time around. I just drilled out the threads in the block and it lasted many falls. Rocked her like that for prob 7-8 months.
It never did leak more then about a cup of water a day since the repair. Dont know if thats a good idea but it worked for me.
I was lookin at tryn to run a pieace of metal between both motor mounts and have that threaded to help brace it. But then i sold the F4I so never got around to doing it.
