Re: Ever Seen This...
looks like I know what im building this weekend... that is so ******* simple and would be Very Effective if it was done right. I dont see why not...
Im sure Hohey is much better but I see nothing wrong with that as long as it is shimmer correctly. looks ghetto as **** and I would definately run some sliders on that swingarm but **** it who cares...

Re: Ever Seen This...
well you would have the swing arm holding it and I dont see it giving much(I use steel). not a bad or expensive way to me. I will make one this weekend and try it out... Ill let ya know how it works.

Re: Ever Seen This...
Do you know how much force will be put on that thing?
Those bolts and spacers are not a good idea

Re: Ever Seen This...
Those Spaced with be steel and Braced on my version... I tend to go overkill on the gussets. U should see my subframe. I am runnin alum. bolts in it right now as to not break my frame before it does!!!
I dont half *** **** like that looks to be done. a good one could be built. im gonna mess around with making something like hoheys as well. also pay attention to the stock ones that are usually mad of alum. they have one smakk tab to hod their **** in place right beside the wheel. THAT is not SAFE in my book. but it is also proven.

Re: Ever Seen This...
I m sure you can make something better than that, but the design if flawed from the ground up. If you have the tools and such just copy a Hohey or buy it and have peace of mind.

I got the Website... and I am too skilled to pay that much for something when I can almost duplicate it if not.(dont worry hohey I wont)
But this sould be something that could be redesigned a little bit especially if you ran a brace from the Farthest most part and let it rest on the top of the swingarm... Less cost efficient but would sturdy the **** out of it.

Re: Ever Seen This...
I think that the concept on that is a great and easy way to install a second caliper it just doesnt seem strong enough. I'd have to see it in person
edit* relooked at the pictures..... still saying the concepts a good idea but those spacers have to go asap. maybe if he put a bend in the steel and put a brace at each bend it would create alot of strength and rigitity if its done that way

Re: Ever Seen This...
The mounting point where it goes on the axle looks like the weak point and a bit scary in my opinion. The forces transfered from the rotors to the caliper looks like it could flex that bracket with those spacers.

Re: Ever Seen This...
i agree completely but think if it was bent in 2 places and had reinforcements on the bends and never used the spacers. what would you think then?
