Re: Handbrakes
Alrighty.... i grinded everything down, and it fits awesome...... however, I bled it from the rear caliper. When I was riding it to test, it slows the bike down.... but not like my pedal. It is a lil crispy at the master... no real soft feel to it. Any suggestions?

Re: Handbrakes
try reverse bleeding the system... thats when u push the rear caliper all the way in (like when u change ur brake pads)... you dont have to take the caliper off for this... just put some pressure on it... once u have the caliper all the way open pump it back up... that should get rid of any air that could be trapped at the top of the system

Re: Handbrakes
i have the same setup with gxsr master, and yah its a tight fit but you can make it work... dont know about you guys but i still have to grab the end of my hb to lock up and thats with a dual caliper setup. helped my boy install a magura and he has a **** ton of options and clearances. if you dont want a master flipped upside down you can always get a hydraulic clutch master which is whats on the new gxsrs and ducatis. ima try switching my masters, putting my gxsr master for my front brakes and my stock 636 master for the handbrake looks like theirs much more clearance with the 636 master and more leverage.
ps: is anyone else having a problem with the stopping power of a gxsr master and dual caliper setup? "trying to figure out if i have a fucked up master"

Re: Handbrakes
So today..... I started working the rear handbrake. Sketchy at first, as my clutch has to be pulled in all the way to my brake finger to disengage the clutch. Kind of uncomfortable. I hope it just gets better with practice.

Re: Handbrakes
Mofat, what Lever is that? How do you like it?
I was wondering if anyone uses a shorty lever and how they liked it vs the stock? All the set ups I've seen just had the stock lever chopped, including mine, but thought I'd get a better feel if I had a shorty. Dunno though, never used one..
Also, I don't see how the spacer thing would work unless you had long *** fingers. My EZ pull already sticks way out there, I don't think any more distance would work too well.Plus, what is it you're trying to clear that some grinding couldn't do?

Re: Handbrakes
I have the MSR shorty..... and it is on the outside of my master. However, when i have a finger on my clutch, and a finger on my master...... the clutch getting pulled in crushes my handbrake finger. It seems like there is not enough room on my clip on

Re: Handbrakes
Also..... I have a GSXR 1000 master that I am using. Bled the system, but it doesnt seem to have too much braking power. It taps into the rear master, so I dunno why this is. Was crazy doing SS's today!

Re: Handbrakes
PS: I meant to include the shorty as the handbrake lever. I have a problem with mine locking up with one finger but it will with two. 1 finger works fine though, just won't lock up, I figure a shorty lever may help with the feel.
Here's how mine set up. When I had the brake on the outside of the clutch, my finger got smashed. I have the brake on the inside and it works fine, just doesn't lock up. I also ground down the brake lever for extra clearance for my pointer finger when I'm working the two.

Re: Handbrakes
you use the old school MX lever skins too.
i thought i was the only one, i always had them on my bikes and everyone used to talk **** to me for having them, but those ******* make your clutch much more comfortable and give you more grip.
